About Christina Granchelli

My name is Christina, and I am the Owner and Sole Agent/Broker at CK Insurance.  For the last 25 years I have been working in the Automotive Industry.  I started out working in the Parts Department and over my 25-year career in the industry managed to work my way through every department all the way up to General Manager.  I was able to learn the ins and outs of the business and fully run a dealership.  I was at one store for over 17 years and in my 17th year there the Owner decided to sell.  I was at a loss of what to do.  The store had become my home, and the employees and customers were like family.

I was approached by a friend at that time, and they asked me if I would consider switching careers and joining them in Medicare Sales.  She knew how much I liked to help people and saw the close relationships I formed with customers over the years and thought I would feel more fulfilled doing something that would help people in a greater way than just finding their next vehicle.  To say I was too scared is an understatement.  I was a single Mom with a child in college and just couldn’t wrap my mind around taking that leap since the Automotive industry was all I knew.  So, I got a new job at a new dealership and tried to create a new home for myself.

However, in the year following the conversation with my friend the idea was still in the back of my mind.  The more I worked at the new dealership the less fulfilled I felt.  In this time, I also had a couple of conversations with my parents and also some family members about their Medicare and how they set it up and who they used and how they picked their plan.

To say that I was shocked is a bit of an understatement.  While talking to my family the feedback I got from them was that Medicare was confusing and they really weren’t sure how they ended up with the plan they had other than the Agent they used picked it for them.  When I asked if they gave them multiple options and the answer was no, I was frustrated to say the least.

This prompted me to investigate this Medicare Business seriously now.  I called up my friend who had approached me the year before and asked if I can see what it was she did.  On my day off I went into her office and sat back and watched as she took one client after another that day.  Not to my surprise was that each and every client she had really had the same feedback.  They weren’t sure how to navigate Medicare and needed her help.  Most of them left giving her a hug and thanking her immensely for her guidance.  You see not only did she walk them through the process and explain Medicare and what it was and how it worked she offered to send them multiple options for plans.   When the clients left with smiles on their faces, I felt the warmth inside of me and realized I wanted to help people like this as well.

People who were just like my parents and didn’t know much about what they were signing up for and that they had all these options.  I wanted to be that source.  I have since established my own Agency and my vow is to make sure every client that I take on and help I treat them as if they are my parents or family.  I want to make sure every client I have gets that same family treatment and make sure that they are understanding what they are signing up for and given all the available options.
